Google has just released the Zeitgeist of 2008, as we are hurrying towards end of the year 2008.

Google’s Zeitgeist is always timely and trend based. Olympic at Beijing took over the world in the first half of 2008 and U.S election influenced the world in second half of 2008. Sarah Palin, vice presidential candidate of U.S-elections- 2008, tops the list of global search. Consecutively, Olympics in Beijing (2008) took over the second place. Surprisingly, Obama stands in 6th position.

In 2008, Orkut experienced a slight slow down in user reach, and Facebook aggressively reached out global users. Thus, facebook is in 3rd position. Euro 2008 tops among European Zeitgeist, but it is in the bottom of global search list. A Poland based social networking site ‘Nasza klasa’ is 7th most searched.
